Charitable
Our beloved Pastor, Fr. Joseph, continues to visit the sick and shut ins in their homes and Nursing facilities, counseling families and offering his help, love and support.
As a Parish, we have this year contributed to the Food for Hungry People Campaign of the Antiochian Archdiocese.
We have also contributed this year to the IOCC (International Orthodox
Christian Charities) for the Tsunami Relief Efforts.
We collect canned goods each year, which are distributed by our Pastor, Fr. Joseph, throughout the Metropolitan area to needy families and organizations, donate food to Martha's Table (a local shelter).
Throughout the year, we donate clothing, food and money to St. Joseph's House (which takes care of mentally and physically disabled children).
The ladies of our Parish distribute plants to our shut ins at Easter and Christmas, keeping in touch with them and other members of the Parish via cards for the sick, sympathy cards to those who have lost loved ones. Through the Ladies Society, we sponsor orphaned children in the Middle East.
Our Ladies Society is a member of AOCWNA, the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America, thus participating in that organization's many charitable projects....sponsoring a camp for our children, donations to hospitals overseas, Seminarians, etc.
We send "packages" to our troops overseas, donate to the Patriarchate of Antioch, support the young men of our Archdiocese who are undertaking theological studies in preparation for ordination -- our Seminarians Education Fund, through our Fellowship we donate for "Special Olympics".
Yearly we receive special requests for donations of victims of tragedys, such as earthquakes, help with food and medicine, floods, etc. and give willingly and generously to those special needs.
Our Parish is always there to help our community and friends and family abroad, whenever needed. We thank our Parishioners for their love and generosity.
